Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register with the Homeowners’ Association?

All homeowners are required to provide their full name and civic address to the St. Margaret’s Village Homeowners’ Association. Please email your info to smcassoc@gmail.com. We’ll only contact you with relevant community news, such as Annual General Meeting notices, special events, or items requiring resident input. We don’t send frequent emails or share your information.

How do I get my mailbox and keys?

Community mailboxes are located at the entrance to the subdivision on Harvest Lane. To receive your keys, you’ll need to visit the Tantallon Post Office at 12724 Peggy’s Cove Road. Bring your occupancy permit or home purchase documents, as Canada Post requires proof of residence. You can also begin the process online by completing the Canada Post form here: Request community mailbox keys. Once processed, you’ll either receive your keys in the mail or a notice card with pickup instructions. For questions, you can call the Tantallon Post Office at 902-826-7762.

How do I get a light post at the end of my driveway?

Light posts are a common feature throughout St. Margaret’s Village and help with visibility and way-finding, especially at night or during emergencies. These posts are not provided by the HOA or developer and are the responsibility of individual homeowners. If your property doesn’t have one, you’re welcome to purchase and install a post that matches the general style used throughout the neighbourhood.

  • Lifetime Builders homes typically included a lamp post and a separate civic post with a reflective number sign. Both are the responsibility of the homeowner.
  • Picket Fence Homes include similar post designs but do not supply reflective numbers. These can be ordered through Whitman Signs at 902-497-2436.
  • Ramar Homes use an integrated light/civic post with a unique design. Homeowners may need to contact the builder directly for replacement parts.
  • PVC versions of the original-style posts are available from Moulding Warehouse, offering lower maintenance and lasting visual appeal.

For questions about sourcing or replacing your post, please reach out to the HOA directly—we’re happy to help maintain the look and feel of the neighbourhood.

Who do I contact about road issues or maintenance?

For official concerns like road conditions or common property, please reach out directly to the board at smcassoc@gmail.com.

Where can I connect with other residents?

The St. Margaret’s Village Facebook Group is a resident-run space for casual conversation, recommendations, and local updates. It’s a great place to get to know your neighbours!  You can also keep an eye on our upcoming events page, or even help put one together!
